Roger Jones – G7RGR
Roger G7RGR was a member of Essex RAYNET for over 20+ years, assisting RAYNET Groups across the UK.
Sadly, G7RGR passed away following a prolonged period of illness, with his funeral service held at St James Church, Coundon in May 2025
We have setup this webpage to pay tribute to Roger, who was a very active member in Essex RAYNET.
Roger worked for many years at Bradwell Power Station in Essex, which was not far from his home in Burnham On Crouch, where he built up a considerable knowledge of Electronics, which he would later use in Amateur Radio and in the pursuit of his many other hobbies
He was also Secretary of the Dengie Hundred Radio Society for many years.
Roger was always one of the first to volunteer for many events, sometimes up to 12 months in advance – but a keen favourite was the Saltmarsh 75 which went round the Dengie Peninsula!
Anyone who knew Roger, would classify him as one of the most welcoming, friendly and talkative people ever to grace Essex RAYNET!
He will be greatly missed by current and retired members of Essex RAYNET.
