Successful Summer Training Day
Essex RAYNET held its annual Summer Training Day this weekend. This saw Essex, Kent County Raynet , Mid Herts RAYNET and
East Suffolk Raynet Members get together for a day of Show & Tell, Networking and an opportunity to learn new skills.
Kent RAYNET demonstrated their Emergency Communications Unit as well as how they use StarLink and other technologies.
Mid Hertfordshire demonstrated their Mobile Communications Unit & Police Station.
Essex RAYNET demonstrated it’s Icom Digital Voice Technology, including Inband Repeater, Bespoke Crossband Repeater
and D-Star Picture / Chat technologies. We also hosted a practical build class for Slim Jim Antennas on UHF, which was very popular.
There was also a Net Control Simulation Session, to help Operators prepare for real-life situations which often crop up during events.
The event was really well attended across the 4 groups, despite the very wet weather which drenched the UK this weekend!
Feedback was very positive and we have big aspirations to host a even bigger multi RAYNET Group Training / Show & Tell in 2026!
