Wet but successful Colchester Half Marathon

Members of Essex RAYNET were out today supporting the Colchester Half Marathon with safety and resilient communications, whilst working in liaison with St John Ambulance and Essex 4X4.  The County Controller posted:

‘May I congratulate Chris (2E0KFG) on organising his first event successfully and for you all for volunteering your time today to support this event.

The event organiser reinstated that the event simply would not be possible without the Radio Network and Tracking provided by RAYNET.’

APRS was utilised in keeping track of members at checkpoints and the Sweeper, thanks to the nearby digipeater MB7UCE which provided excellent coverage of the route.
